Somatic Practices for Emotional Balance

Service Description

THIS CLASS IS CURRENTLY ON SUMMER HIATUS. CLASS WILL RESUME IN SEPTEMBER, AT WHICH TIME IT WILL BE AVAILABLE AT 9AM JST (7PM CST/8PM EST). This bi-monthly (first & third Tuesdays of the month), 45-minute session is open to anyone experiencing stress, distress, anxiety, depression, or emotional imbalance and is a safe space to experience and learn somatic practices for regulating your emotions. Michelle Pietrzak-Wegner, somatically-trained licensed mental health counselor and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner™ will guide participants in a weekly themed practice of using sensory awareness, body-based movements, mindfulness, and breath work for the purpose of developing a deeper connection with your body and settling the nervous system. Participants are encouraged to attend regularly or as often as they would like for learning techniques to carry over into their own daily life. These classes take place via Zoom and can be attended from home, office or any location in which you can find a corner of quiet while logged into your computer. These group sessions are not a replacement for therapy and do not offer a space for processing your emotions or thoughts rather sessions are present-moment focused, experiential and psycho-educationally based. It is important to understand that this class is not designed to support someone currently in crisis , acute trauma, or PTSD, please seek professional mental health support if this applies to you. Registration is online and can be done up until 1-hour before the class. Class size will not exceed 15 individuals.

Cancellation Policy

If you have signed up for a class and are unable to attend, please send an email sent to Michelle letting her know that you are unable to attend. There will be no refunds issued under any circumstance due to the already reduced rate of this course. However, if you have notified Michelle in advance of your inability to attend a class that you have already scheduled and paid for, she will work with you to carry your fee over to a future class within a 30-day time period.
